The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola continued its global journey and landed in Jordan, where it took centre stage at an event at Ras Al Ain Gallery in Amman.

Thousands in Amman visited the trophy following a private viewing held for local schools and charities before the doors opened to the public. Fans across the country were invited to enjoy their day at the event and witness the most coveted prize in world sport.

Mayor of Amman Yousef Shawarbeh attended a press conference, along with representatives of the Jordan Football Association (JFA), Coca-Cola and FIFA and approximately 150 journalists.

Expressing his delight, Board Member and Marketing Committee Head of the JFA Loai Omaish said: "It is a great pleasure that Jordan is a part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. Especially at this time where we are preparing to host a phenomenal event, the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup—which has been achieved following the great success of hosting the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup."

"The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour will excite football enthusiasts in Jordan, and we trust that this will be a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience for many," Omaish added. "We are ecstatic about offering our youth the opportunity to see the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy. This is an inspirational and unique experience, and we thank The Coca-Cola Company and FIFA for making the dreams of millions of football enthusiasts come true."

General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company Middle East Murat Ozgel said: “Sport has always held the power to unite and inspire people to follow their dreams – a mission that is at the centre of Coca-Cola’s long-standing support of football. Our partnership with FIFA has given us the incredible opportunity to further that goal, by bringing the atmosphere of excitement that surrounds the FIFA World Cup directly to the sport's biggest fans."

"Jordan embodies the values of football, from their passion for the game to their respect for it, and it is a privilege to play host to the most celebrated prize in the world," Ozgel added. "We look forward to continually bringing the joy seen here today to football fans around the Middle East, and the world.”

Seventeen-year-old Shahed Zouhair who attended the event with her school said: "I love the game, I love football. It keeps me going and helps me remain active. Since the U-17 Women's World Cup we play much more football in school and it's so much fun to play with my friends."

Jordan was the 25th country of 51 being visited during the global leg of The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour™ by Coca-Cola. The tour now heads to the United Arab Emirates before moving on to Africa.
